Black and white portrait of a woman with short hair, wearing a beanie and jacket, resting her chin on her hand, against a pink circular background. Tattoo Artist. Amsterdam.

About the Artist: Alena Pollitt

Alena (she/they), also known as Loon Calls, is a tattoo artist who thinks queer people deserve to feel good in their bodies and reclaim their skin with playful, textured, illustrative, nature-inspired, and identity-affirming art. Pulling from a love of printmaking, ink drawing, and black and white photography, their work balances bold design with the raw, deliberate imperfections of both handmade art and nature itself.

Expect bold shapes, contrasting textures, and a heavy dose of whimsy, done with machine or handpoke. If you’re looking for art that feels hand-stamped, intentional, joyful, and queer, you’re in the right chair.
